Italy - May 9-12
Food Photography Masterclass
at Borgo dei Gatti

Ciao, I'm Solli

I'm your host at this unique experience taking place in a charming house of Borgo dei Gatti in the Medieval village Golferenzo, with only 200 inhabitants. Surrounded by the enchanting vineyards this village is also recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Join me on this journey where I unveil the secrets of creative food photography.

I'm originally from Sweden but based in Paris since 13 years ago, the City of Light, where my photographic journey began 13 years ago. Today I work with various brands such as Le Creuset, Carrefour and Ankarsrum.

I love sharing my knowledge and my skills and I'm regularely invited by different brands to host webinars and I also have a YOUTUBE-channel where I share Food Photography tutorials. My work has been supported and recognized by many brands and today I am proud to say I am a Nikon Europe Ambassador, Adobe Insider, Calibrite Ambassador and BenQ Expert.

My biggest inspirations are Old Masterpainters like Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci and Vermeer, I love how they play with the light and shadows in their paintings and the technique, chiaroscuro, is something I like to replicate in my work. But I also like to go into details and explore fruits and vegetables with my macro lens but most and foremost I want to evoke emotions with my images.

Borgo dei Gatti

You will be staying in a villa belonging to Borgo dei Gatti, a relais that is part of a redevelopment project to revive the almost forgotten village of Golferenzo.

Nestled among the rolling hills of Oltrepò Pavese, Golferenzo is a testimony to ancient charm and culinary excellence. Situated in the province of Pavia, Lombardy, this medieval gem of just over 200 inhabitants has retained an intimate charm that enchants every visitor.

Majestically perched on a small promontory 464 metres above sea level, Golferenzo offers breathtaking views over the sprawling vineyards of the Versa Valley. This idyllic setting is renowned for producing internationally acclaimed wines, particularly the esteemed Riesling and Pinot varieties. A leisurely stroll through the heart of Golferenzo reveals a maze of narrow stone paths, quaint lanes and picturesque houses leading to the central square.
The elegant parish church of San Nicolò stands proudly surrounded by walls, a reminder of the village's rich heritage.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Closest airport is Milano Linate. You can either rent a car and drive (85 km) 1 hour 30 minutes. There is free parking.
